Traveling in the East Greenland Fjords

Cruising through the eastern fjords of Greenland was full of surprises. My journal entries and photos reveal encounters with wildlife, such as whales and polar bears, and explore remote landscapes of icebergs and history. An opportunity to visit the only town on the east coast, Ittoqqortoormiit, solidified Greenland as a unique destination.

Breaking away from loneliness on the road

A flight attendant since 2015, I’ve developed an addiction to constant travel, leading to an unconventional and often solitary lifestyle. My love for new experiences has come at the cost of stable community connections. The pandemic provided a stark contrast to my nomadic life, prompting self-reflection about relationships, priorities, and societal expectations, particularly surrounding age. In response to loneliness, I’ve adapted by embracing each moment fully, maintaining routines, and nurturing relationships from afar. Creativity provides solace, and despite challenges, I accept the transience of my journey, finding richness in the diverse perspectives it offers.

The Charms of Italy

“When the evening approaches and the sounds of the town dampen, I linger in the intimacy of strolling past cozy residences on tucked away streets. Occasionally an open window gives a glimpse into another world — a widow reading with her cat, a family with young children playing, a couple sharing a bottle of wine. These moments are often enhanced by facial expressions and hand gestures, clues of the dialogue being shared. It is this expression that is so innately and wonderfully Italian.”
