Who am I?

Hi, I’m Emily—classical musician turned flight attendant turned full-time explorer and writer. My love for travel began at 16 years old, when I toured Europe with an orchestra and choir through a summer music program. It was the first time I used a passport, and I remember the thrill of collecting stamps and wandering foreign streets. That trip was my first taste of adventure.

I went on to study classical violin and opera in college, but after graduating, I craved something different. I took a leap, became a flight attendant, and spent the next 10 years traveling across the U.S. for work and the world for pleasure. With each trip, I made mistakes, gained confidence, and learned how to travel better, and lighter. Doing things wrong taught me how to do things right, ultimately leading to the travel tips and advice that I share on this blog.

In 2018, I fell in love with a German man, moved to Munich, and made Europe my new home base. Together, we’ve explored cities, countrysides, and even Antarctica—our favorite adventure to date. You can read about that life-changing trip here: How Antarctica Changed My Life

If you’re looking for something a bit cozier, I also write more personal stories over on my Substack: Steeped in Travel. That’s where I share the moments between the stops—the stillness, the surprises, the people along the way, and the meaning that travel brings to everyday life.
